I might be real late with this bit of information, but this is actually all new to me... Did you hear about the debate to eliminate cursive handwriting from elementary school curriculums?! Times'a changin' - "never mind the importance of cognitive thinking and intellectual development; the artistic expression.. bla bla... what's important is that they know how to operate a keyboard" (?) and all that jazz. Of course, there remains the importance of adaptation; I'm not against change and it remains that the skill is becoming less relevant what with technological advancements and the such... However, completely abolishing it seems all too regressive...
